Start with the property condition
Before quoting, confirm bedrooms, bathrooms, extra living areas, balconies, stairs, parking and access. Photos or a short video are useful when the property is heavily marked or has unusual features.
Tell the cleaner about grease build-up, pet hair, heavy wall marks, mould concerns, renovation dust or anything else likely to require more than a standard move-out scope. Hiding condition simply creates a pricing dispute later.
All rooms and common areas
Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors; dust accessible surfaces, ledges, shelves and cornices; remove cobwebs; wipe doors, handles, switches, power points and skirting boards; and spot-clean visible wall marks where practical.
Inside windows, sills and accessible tracks should be confirmed in the scope. External glass, height work and difficult access should be treated separately rather than assumed.
Kitchen
Clean benchtops, splashback, sink, taps, stovetop, burners and exterior appliance surfaces. Oven, racks, trays, rangehood and filters should be included when agreed.
Cupboards and drawers often need inside-and-out cleaning for a proper move-out result. Grease, food residue and built-up dust usually require more time than a routine kitchen clean.
Bathrooms and laundry
Clean toilets, vanities, basins, mirrors, shower screens, baths and fittings. Remove ordinary soap residue and presentation marks from accessible surfaces.
Wipe doors, handles and skirting, mop the floor and check exhaust fan exteriors where they are safely accessible. Heavy mineral scale, mould remediation or specialist restoration should be identified separately.
Cupboards, wardrobes and windows
Empty cupboards and wardrobes before the cleaner arrives. Cleaning around stored belongings prevents a complete result and can create disagreement about what was accessible.
Confirm whether inside windows and tracks are part of the standard scope and whether external glass, flyscreens or difficult-height windows require a separate quote.
Pricing and extras
Starshine’s existing end-of-lease pricing model starts from the property size and then adjusts for condition, access and extras. Carpet steam cleaning, specialist wall washing, heavy grease and other add-ons should be identified before the booking is confirmed.
The clean should be quoted against a defined scope. That gives the client, cleaner and property manager something concrete to compare if a re-clean request is raised later.
Need help with the actual clean?
Use the Starshine quote form with the service, suburb, property details and timing. Straightforward residential work may receive an indicative estimate; complex or site-based work is reviewed against the real scope before final pricing.
